Register now for the Inaugural Hobbit Hike 5K Family Fun Run/Walk on Tuesday, September 22!

Come run through the woods for the inaugural Hobbit Hike 5K Family Fun Run/Walk on Tuesday, September 22, at Orange County Parks and Recreation's Moss Park (12901 Moss Park Rd., Orlando, FL 32832). Those who register by September 8 are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt and medal; registration is open through race day.

• Register for $25 at OCParks5K.org (a United Way web page); all proceeds benefit Heart of Florida United Way.

September 22 Event Day

• 5:30 p.m. Check-in begins at pavilion 4, located behind the front parking lot.
• 7 p.m. Race begins with runners in the front and walkers in the back. Start and finish will be at the same location, with two water stations.
• This 5K Run-Walk will have four restrooms and two portalets.
• Food available for purchase from Kona Ice and R&D Food Services.
• Please note: the course is shell rock, compact dirt and asphalt.
• Pets are not permitted in the park; service animals are welcome.

FREE Fort Christmas Barnyard Banter Program, August 15

All ages are welcome to join in the Barnyard Banter program at Fort Christmas Historical Park! on August 15, from 1-2 p.m., enjoy Visit Florida of the Past to learn about tourist attractions that brought visitors to Florida, long before Disney World -- such as Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven. FREE Monthly Senior Fish-4-Fun Event at Renaissance Senior Center, August 18, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Orange County Parks & Recreation and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission join together to bring you Senior Fish-4-Fun for ages 55 and older at Centro Renaissance para Ancianos. This is a once-a-month free catch-n-release fishing event! Fishing poles and bait provided while supplies last, or participants can bring their own fresh-water fishing gear. Questions? Dance the Night Away With The Crew on Saturday, August 29

Enjoy the beautiful music of The Crew on the last Saturday of the month, from 6-9 p.m., at Centro Renaissance para Ancianos's ballroom! Each event is open to adults ages 18 and older and all styles of dance are welcome. You will enjoy a cool atmosphere of dance, fun and live music provided by The Crew.
