FREE Mayor's Family Fun Day, November 9
  • Come to Mayor's Family Fun Day on Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Cypress Grove Park, 290 Holden Avenue, Orlando, for a free event to celebrate and strengthen families! Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings will provide a special presentation and activities will include food trucks, bounce house, performances, face painting and information and services to strengthen families. FREE Movie on the Trails: Wish!
  • Bring your family and friends to the following parks for the FREE Movies at the Trails: Wish! This fun animated movie (rated PG, 92 mins.) starts at 6:15 p.m., shortly after dark. Bring lawn chairs and snacks, or purchase from food trucks (if available). No alcohol allowed in the park; no pets allowed in the viewing area. Waterleigh Park South Community Meeting #2, November 12
  • The Orange County Parks and Recreation Division and District 1 Commissioner Nicole Wilson invite you to attend the second in-person community meeting to discuss survey results for amenities for the five-acre Waterleigh Park South on Tuesday, November 12, 6-7 p.m., at Water Spring Middle School, 17000 Water Spring Blvd., Winter Garden. Seniors 55+ Provide Input on Staying Active, November 14
  • Take the Orange County Seniors Survey: tinyurl.com/OCSeniorsSurvey.
  • Orange County Parks and Recreation will host three open house public meetings to gain information from Orange County residents who are ages 55 or older regarding how they stay active, healthy and connected to their community. Each meeting invites residents to provide feedback on senior recreation facilities and programming needs. Questions? Email parks@ocfl.net or call Parks Marketing 407-836-6257. Meetings will be held as follows:
    • Thursday, November 14, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Meadow Woods Recreation Center, 1751 Rhode Island Woods Circle, Orlando.
    • Wednesday, November 20, 6-8 p.m. at South Econ Recreation Center, 3850 S. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando.
    • Thursday, November 21, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The Rosen JCC, 111184 S. Apopka-Vineland Road, Orlando.

FREE Fort Christmas Barnyard Banter: Historic Thanksgiving, November 16
  • All ages are welcome to join in the new Barnyard Banter program at Fort Christmas Historical Park on Saturday, November 16 from 1-2pm! This month's free topic is Historic Thanksgiving, all about history and the myths surrounding the holiday. Visite Parque Histórico Fort Christmas for more information. Questions? Shingle Creek Trail Phase 4 Community Meeting #2, November 20
  • The Orange County Parks and Recreation Division and District 6 Commissioner Mike Scott invite you to attend the second in-person community meeting to discuss survey results for Shingle Creek Trail Phase 4 on Wednesday, November 20, 6-7 p.m. at Centro de Recreación Barnett Park. Learn about the options of connecting our Pine Hills Trail to the south with this new segment, across Colonial Drive / State Road 50, to the city of Orlando's segment of the Shingle Creek Trail... and beyond. FREE Inaugural Roller Skate Night at Barber Park, November 29!
  • Don't be a TURKEY! Come to the inaugural FREE Roller Skate Night for all ages at the Barber Park roller hockey rink! This sparkling disco ball event is set for Friday, November 29, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Participants must bring their own roller skates; please note, the covered, outdoor open-air hockey rink for this event has a concrete surface, not wood. Enjoy roller-skating fun with music, DJ and skate games and purchase from select food trucks. Barber Park is located at 3701 Gatlin Ave., Orlando. Questions?
