Orange County Government has initiated the design phases of both Segment 1 and Segment 3 of the Avalon Road Silverleaf Widening Project, based on the Preliminary Design Study (PDS) for widening C.R. 545 to a four-lane divided roadway from Schofield Road to McKinney Road within the Horizon West Special Planning Area (approximately 1.8 miles). This is a public-private partnership project as part of the Silverleaf (formerly Horizon West Town Center) agreement.

The purpose of the design is to implement roadway improvements to improve safety and traffic flow in the area. The design includes adding travel lanes and other features such as, but not limited to, drainage conveyance and treatment improvements, sidewalks and multiuse paths, raised medians, lighting, landscaping and intersection improvements.

Segment 1: Nearing 100% Design and Bidding Phase

Segment 3: Early Design and Permitting Phase

A Design Newsletter dated June 2023 was mailed to nearby property owners for Segment 1. An updated Segment 1 Newsletter will be mailed once design is complete. This Final Design Newsletter will include an estimated construction schedule.

Two newsletters will be provided for Segment 3: the first after 60% design is submitted, which will include an estimated design and construction schedule, and the second, a Final Design Newsletter, which will include an updated construction schedule.
