This project consists of aesthetic enhancements to the I 4 (S.R. 400) and Sand Lake Road Interchange, incorporating landscape plantings, irrigation systems, and hardscape features such as fountains and specialty pavement. The design will be guided by the concepts outlined in the FDOT Landscape Opportunity Plans (FPID 444315 1) and accompanying concept plans developed to establish a signature interchange aesthetic.

The purpose of this project is to design gateway features at the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange that reflect the character and energy of the International Drive experience through distinctive landscape and hardscape elements. These enhancements will establish a memorable and iconic entrance to the International Drive Tourist Area.

A design consultant is currently being procured.

Multiple small group meetings are planned during the design phase of the project and newsletters will be sent to property owners and stakeholders during critical project milestones.
