Orange County Government is preparing construction documents for replacement of the Chase Road Bridge over the Lake Butler and Lake Louise canal.
The replacement of the Chase Road Bridge has been identified as necessary to improve the resilience of the crossing, enhance pedestrian connectivity, and reduce obstacles to maritime navigation. If left unaddressed, continued deterioration of the bridge is expected to require load restrictions, which could negatively impact emergency response times, increase travel durations for roadway users, and potentially limit canal access for maritime operations.
The design phase started on January 7, 2026.
One public information meeting and multiple small group meetings will be scheduled during the design phase of the project. Newsletters will be mailed to nearby property owners at critical project milestones.
