Acerca de la Obra de Arte
Commissioned by the City of Orlando, the colorful Orange Avenue Arch is a gateway to the Wall Street Plaza leading up to the Orange County Regional History Center. A different artist designed each side of the arch; then the two artists collaborated on the fabrication. The side pictured intermingles two natural elements that have played a prominent role in so much of Florida's identity, economy, and history: waves representing the ocean and lakes and the citrus trees. At the center of the arch is a large blue clock.
Acerca del Artista
J. Calvert LaFollette
J Calvert LaFollette received his BFA from Rollins College. After graduation he began creating at McRae Studios where he ran the studio for five years while exhibiting at art festivals across the United States. He has served on the gallery committed for Crealde School of Art and exhibited locally and internationally. Cal works in multiple mediums in two and three-dimensions including wood, bronze, clay and paper. His career as an artist has evolved into the culinary arts: He recently graduated from Orlando Culinary Academy's Le Cordon Bleu Program.
