Youth Sports and Programs

  • Fall Junior Kicks Soccer – Westside registration for ages 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12 open now through September 8th at Barnett Park, Orlo Vista Park and Silver Star Recreation Center. Games played Friday nights at Barnett Park, September 27 to November 15; cost: $45 per child ($20 out-of-county fee applies).
  • Fall Junior Magic Basketball registration for ages 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12 open now through August 30; cost: $60 per person ($20 out-of-county fee applies).
  • Free Youth Fitness Membership is available for ages 8 – 17 or currently enrolled as a high school senior: gymnasium and game room – assigned times. Parents must fill out a registration form and a school ID is required when you register.
  • Go Ju Karate is for all ages! Learn self defense and develop self confidence. Taught by certified black-belt instructors, classes are for anyone, whether a beginner or advanced. Program offered on Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Cost: $40 per month for eight classes.
  • Home School P.E. for grades K – 5th and 6th - 8th, designed to help home-schooled children stay active and learn the basics of sports and fitness, is offered on Tuesdays through May 12: 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. for K - 5th and 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for 6th - 8th. Registration is required; open until full. Cost: $2 per student per class.
  • Kids in the Kitchen (for ages 5 - 12) lets kids learn to cook and have fun doing it! The program is held Thursdays through December 19 (no class October 17, October 31 for Halloween and November 28 for Thanksgiving), 5 - 7 p.m.; cost: $4 per class (pre-registration required and space is limited).
  • Little Scooters for 2- to 4-year-old children is a enrichment program geared toward preparing youngsters for preschool, held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Participants learn numbers, letters, shapes, colors and motor skills, and take part in activities that include free play, arts and crafts, story time and holiday parties. Birth certificate required upon registration (child must be potty trained prior to enrollment); cost: $30 per child per session (five sessions with 10 classes per session).
    • Session 1 – September 10 – October 10: registration open August 10 until full.
    • Session 2 – October 22 – November 21: registration open September 15 until full.
    • Session 3 – December 3 – January 16 (no class December 24, 2019, through January 2, 2020 for Winter Break): registration open October 27 until full.
    • Session 4 –January 21 – February 20, 2020: registration open December 14 until full.
    • Session 5 – February 25 – April 2 (no class March 17 and March 19 for Spring Break): registration January 18 until full.
  • Parents Night Out (grades K - 5th) allows you to drop off your child for a fun evening of pizza, snacks, games and crafts. Pre-registration is required on the Wednesday before each event and space is limited to 30 children; cost: $10 per child. The program is held on the following Fridays 6 - 10 p.m.:

    • October 25: Halloween Party
    • November 15: Thanksgiving
    • December 20: Holiday Celebration
    • January 17: Winter Land
    • February 14: Valentine's Party
    • March 27: St. Patrick's Day
    • April 17: Comedy Night May 15: End-of-the-Year Glow Party
  • Silver Star Steppers (grades K – 5th and 6th – 8th) brings children together to create various step routines; Steppers will practice routines and put on a show right before the end of the program for their parents and staff. The program is held Tuesdays, September 3 through November 19 (no class November 5): K – 5th grade 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. and 6th – 8th grade 6 – 7 p.m. Cost: $2 per class (includes a T-shirt).
  • Toddlers in Motion, for ages 3 and 4, teaches children basic sports skills, team play and sportsmanship. Pre-registration and birth certificate required; cost: $14 per child per session (three sessions with seven classes per session).
    • Session 1 - Soccer, September 9 - October 21: registration open August 9 until full.
    • Session 2 - Basketball, October 28 - December 16 (no class November 25 for Thanksgiving): registration open September 28 until full.
    • Session 3 - Tee Ball, January 13 - March 9 (no class January 20 for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and February 17): registration open December 13 until full.
Adult Sports and Programs
  • Adult Fitness Center Memberships are $100 per year for ages 16 - 54 or $25 for 90 days; $75 per year for ages 55+ and active military. Membership includes access to fitness area and assigned times for gymnasium and game room. (Individual fitness classes are paid separately and do not require membership.)

  • Orange County Clash Quad Wheelchair Rugby is an athletic sport using specialized wheelchairs. Games are played on Sundays 3 - 6 p.m. New members welcome! Cost: no fee but registration is required.
  • Orlando Magic Wheels Wheelchair Basketball is a fast-paced team sport for athletes with primarily lower limb disabilities, ranging from amputations to paraplegia. Games are held on Tuesdays 6 - 8 p.m. New members welcome! Cost: $120 per player per year.
  • Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Come play with us and find out why pickleball is so popular! Join in the fun on Mondays and Wednesdays 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Cost: included with fitness center membership or $10 per day.
